Can the 49ers Manage WITHOUT Michael Crabtree?

Well, it is no surprise that Michael Crabtree has torn has Achilles tendon during a practice this week. Everybody is aware of the news now. The big question is how the 49ers are gonna make the season last without their star receiver?

Crabtree had a breakout season in 2012, which included 89 receptions, 1,105 receiving yards, and 9 touchdowns.

Crabtree had a breakout season in 2012, which included 89 receptions, 1,105 receiving yards, and 9 touchdowns.

Coach Jim Harbaugh has confirmed that Crabtree is not ruled out for the entire season, even though an Achilles tendon was known for a season ending injury back then. But his need 6 months for recovery. Don’t lose hope now, Niners fans. Even though the Texas-Tech graduate was coming off the breakout season (85 receptions, 1,105 yards, 9 touchdowns) fans have forgot that the team still has some young bright talent on this offense. Such as Vernon Davis, who is still in the peak of his prime and possibly a top 5 tight end in the NFL (possibly a top 3). Also, you forgot that the Niners traded for Anquan Boldin, who is a dangerous deep threat. Plus, a young reciever in Mario Manningham who’s coming fresh off a season ending ACL injury from last season, and Frank Gore in the backfield, who I feel is the best running back in the NFC behind MVP Adrian Peterson.

Can Colin Kaepernick cope without having Michael Crabtree to throw to for most of the season?

Can Colin Kaepernick cope without having Michael Crabtree to throw to for most of the season?

The only question is, can Colin Kaepernick lead this team without Crabtree for most of the season? The thing that Harbaugh liked about Kaepernick is the ability for him to connect with Crabtree and finally make him into a star, something former Niners starting QB (now Chief) Alex Smith could not do. The Niners are expected to be a top 2 team in the NFL this season, but with this injury to Crabtree, will it be a rise or a downfall?
