Nick Fairley Predicts Super Bowl for Lions This Season

What is this? A sequel to the disaster film “2011 Philadelphia Eagles” with Nick Fairley playing the role of Vince Young? Not too long ago, Fairley (entering his 3rd year in the NFL) was interviewed by Terry Foster from the Detroit News. His predictions involve the Detroit Lions (who went 4-12 last season) making a Super Bowl run. What? Am I hearing that correctly? Did he just say Super Bowl? He’s not talking a winning record. He’s not talking a spot in the playoffs. He’s talking SUPER BOWL.

“We picked up some good guys in the draft. It is going to be up yo us (players) to getting the chemistry up to where we can play off each other. We are going to do some big things this year.” -Nick Fairley

I’m sorry but the Lions need to do A LOT more if they even want to make the playoffs. They had a good free agency, but then turned a lot heads when they picked up the Ghanian freak of nature, Ezekiel Ansah, with the 5th pick in the NFL Draft. All though the defense has improved a bit, the Lions rank 1st in the league for opponent PPG (26.4) under Jim Schwartz and crew. Unless they find help in that defense and improve the o-line, better luck next year Nick.
