Report: Matt Ryan and Falcons in talks for a new deal

Matt Ryan

FOX’s NFL Insider Jay Glazer is reporting that the Atlanta Falcons have began contract negotiations with QB Matt Ryan for a contract extension. Matt Ryan’s contract is set to expire after the 2013 season. Jay Glazer also reports that negotiations were initiated after the season. He also reports that no matter what happens in the NFC Championship, the Falcons are prepared to offer Matt Ryan a “mega contract”.

I believe that there is no doubt that Matt Ryan needs to be extended. He is a franchise quarterback and a franchise quarterback will get you a lot of wins and maybe even a Super Bowl win. Ryan had a breakout year in 2012 and even got the proverbial monkey off of his back when he won his first playoff game. He’s now in the NFC Championship game, and he has a chance to take his team to the Super Bowl. I think a lot of you will agree with me when I say: PAY THAT MAN!
