Raiders’ QB Palmer out for the season’s finale

Carson Palmer InjuredIt seems like when it rains it pours this season for Raider-Nation. Oakland QB Carson Palmer will miss the final game of the season against the San Diego Chargers with broken ribs and a bruised lung after the Panthers’ defensive end Greg Hardy speared him in the back in the 17-6 loss in Carolina (Hardy was penalized for roughing the passer).

Head coach Dennis Allen said Matt Leinart or Terrelle Pryor will start against the Chargers, but he won’t name a starter until later in the week.

“Our plan is right now to work both of them this week,” Allen said. “We’ll see how practice goes and then later in the week we’ll be ready to name a starter.”
