Beanie Wells expected to leave the Cardinals

Wells was selected in the 1st round with the 31st overall pick in the 2009 Draft

Chris “Beanie” Well told people that his last game against the 49ers will be “his audition for new teams needing a runningback”. Wells has pretty much stated he is no longer going to be a Cardinal next year and feels like he wants a fresh start. Wells has only had one 1,000 yard rushing season since being drafted by the Cardinals; which was last season. The thing that has held Wells back for so long is injury problems. Earlier this season Beanie Wells wanted to repeat the success from last season but bunch of nagging injuries have held him back. Currently the Cardinals are dead last when it comes to a rushing attack.  You almost question what team will be looking at Beanie this upcoming season? A lot of teams need runningbacks next season. Though with potential runningbacks in the draft in Giovanni Bernard, Joseph Randle, and Eddie Lacey. Not to mention the crop of talent currently in the draft featuring Stepfan Taylor, Mike Gillisilee, and Monte Ball. It is hard to really see if a team might want to pick up a rookie instead of going with the 4 year pro in Wells.  Wells may struggle finding a starting job for a lot of teams, but he could survive being a back up for anyone else. Well’s injury problems have hurt him no doubt, but hey who knows maybe we could all be wrong and he becomes comeback player of the year anything can happen.
