The deadline for Franchise players to sign long-term deals with their respective teams ended Monday at 4 p.m. ET. Unfortunately Kansas City Chiefs’ wide receiver Dwayne Bowe went unsigned and I can’t see him sign the tender any time soon just to be spiteful.
The conversation between Bowe and the Chiefs was almost little to none and they could not see eye-to-eye when they did communicate. The Chiefs may be settling with the receiving corps they have in place with the second leading receiver on the team, Steve Breaston, and the two draft picks Jonathan Baldwin (1st Round) and Devon Wylie (4th Round).
When he becomes a free agent next season, expect Dwayne Bowe to look for the type of payout that Vincent Jackson received (5yrs/$55.5M) or even better. Also, don’t be shocked if Kansas City ends up putting him on the trading block soon. Stay Tuned.
