The Bolts signed TE/FB Patrick Doyle to a 3-year contract on Tuesday. The 6-foot 3-inch, 240 pound Doyle out of the University of San Diego caught 49 passes for 628 yards and 5 TDs during his college career. Doyle was a team captain as a junior for the Toreros in 2010 and the team’s Offensive Most Valuable Player as a sophomore in 2009. The Chargers have four tight ends and three fullbacks already, so Doyle will most likely stick around on the practice squad just in case there’s significant injuries.
