Oakland re-signs fullback Marcel Reece to his one-year Exclusive Rights tender and this is an important signing for the Raiders. Reece is considered to be a true “multi-purpose” fullback that is a huge threat offensively; he can run the ball, set blocks for the running back and catch the short passes. It is rumored that he might see a lot of carries this season.
Reece joined the Raiders as an undrafted free agent in 2008 out of the University of Washington. He started 16 of the 30 games he’s played in the NFL with 54 career receptions for 654 yards and 5 touchdowns; he also ran for 234 yards and 1TD from 47 carries.
Reece will be eligible to be a restricted free agent at the end of next season and an unrestricted free agent following the 2013 season.
