Eagles deal Asante Samuel to Falcons

The Atlanta Falcons acquired Philadelphia Eagles Pro-Bowl cornerback Asante Samuel for a 7th-round pick. Samuel agreed to a three-year $18.5 million dollar deal. He’ll earn $9.9 million in 2012 and $11.4 million in 2013. Samuel will join a strong trio with Dunta Robinson and Brett Grimes in the backfield. Samuel had 34 tackles and 2 interceptions in 2011.

  1. This is a nice pick up for the Falcons that will make BOTH Samuels and the team happy. Samuels wasn’t going to fit in the Eagles defensive scheme and Falcons was a little weak in the secondary. Good move Atlanta!
