Broncos sign WR Stokley

Denver Broncos reached a one-year agreement with one of Peyton Manning’s teammates back in Indianapolis – Brandon Stokley.

The 14 year veteran Stokely and Manning were a tandem in the Colts organization from 2003 to 2007; in 2007, Stokley had the best season of his career by accumulating more than 1,000 receiving yards.

This is Stokley’s second stint with the Broncos.  He was with the organization from 2007-2009, within that time he played 44 regular season games and caught 108 passes.  In 2010, he joined the Seattle Seahawks and last season he joined the New York Giants.

In 1999, Stokley was picked in the fourth round by the Baltimore Ravens coming out of Louisiana-Lafayette.  Known as a dependable receiver that is sure to catch the ball, he hs 339 career catches for 4,680 yards and two Super Bowl rings to show for it; one with the Ravens in 2000 and the other withe the Colts in 2006.

Stokley, with the addition of free agent WR Andre Caldwell, the Broncos have gathered a solid receiving corps that already had Eric Decker and Demaryius Thomas.
