London Fletcher is a rarity in the NFL. At the age of 36 he led the league with a career high 166 tackles last season. Fletcher, who has been in the league since 1998, is a veteran at the position but also brings leadership to his locker room. He signed a two year contract to stay with the Redskins as this is most likely his last stand with an NFL team. He can still produce at a high level, but the wear and tear gets to players in this league, some faster than others. Luckily for Fletcher that hasn’t affected him as he has never missed a game in his career (224 straight starts). Once he plays out his contract at the age of 38, it’s fairly immanent that Fletcher will look to retire.
