Dolphins’ Linebacker Koa Misi Arrested

According to details of the alleged crime released late Friday by the Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Office, Misi is accused of breaking into an apartment by punching through the wooden front door. Once inside, the sheriff’s office says, the 6-foot-3, 260-pound Misi punched a 19-year-old man inside the apartment, hitting him in the eye.

It all started at about 2:35 a.m. March 30th, police say. Trouble began when several people on the apartment’s balcony got into a shouting match with a group of people walking by on the street below. Misi was part of the group walking on the street — joined by one male friend and two female friends. In a written statement, Santa Barbara officials said there were numerous witnesses to Misi running up into the apartment. Three female witnesses demanded that he pay for the damage he caused, police said, and when one of the women threatened to call police, Misi responded by grabbing her cell phone and throwing it on the ground.

When deputies arrived on the scene, “Misi was cooperative and agreed to pay for the damage,” the sheriff’s office statement said.
It wasn’t until the next day that the man struck by Misi decided to press charges, police said.
As of Friday afternoon, Misi was still being held in custody at the Broward County Jail, with bond set at $10,000.
