Around The NFC South

New Orleans Saints– NFL reportedly will hear appeals from New Orleans Saints Coach Sean Payton. The Saints have been fined $500,000 and docked two second-round picks (2012, 2013). Their roster isn’t expected much change now. Coach Parcells has a close relationship with Coach Payton, so it’s a good chance you’ll see Parcells be the new coach for New Orleans.

Carolina Panthers– The Carolina Panthers pulled off a trade on Friday sending RB Mike Goodson to the Oakland Raiders in exchange for OT Bruce Cambell. They’ve also re-signed DE Antwan Applewhite to a one year deal. The Panthers have been reportedly shopping around draft picks, so look for them to make a move before draft day.

Atlanta Falcons– DE John Abraham entered free agency this offseason and won’t be looking to sign anywhere. Abraham “Chose to look after family instead of chasing after big bucks.” Ex-Falcon Curtis Lofton is now headed to New Orleans, Coach Mike Smith recently reported that Sean Weatherspoon is ready to assume Lofton’s old role.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers– The Bucs have officially re-signed CB Ronde Barber, A one year deal worth $3 million is bringing back the veteran for a 16th season. New Tampa Bay Coach Greg Schiano is hyped up to be apart of the organization. He “feels the urgency to win”, and as Tim Tebow says “excited to be here.”
