Jeff Ireland, the General Manager of the Miami Dolphins, is set to attend Texas A&M quarterback Ryan Tannehill’s Pro Day. The Dolphins lack of a quarterback has hit the headlines as a major need for the team throughout the off-season, but Matt Moore is no slacker under center. He had no off-season with the team, and after Henne went down in Week 4, Moore was thrown into the fire of an 0-4 team. He ended up finishing the season with a respectable 6-3 record, and is an ideal quarterback for Tannehill to sit and learn from.
If Miami does draft Ryan Tannehill, it will most likely be with their 8th overall pick, and the odds of Tannehill starting are not significant either. He has tons of potential being as ripe at the position like he currently is. The Dolphins are without a doubt the best suitor for Tannehill now that his former head coach at Texas A&M Mike Sherman, is now the offensive coordinator down in Miami. We also cannot leave out the fact that Joe Philbin is running the West Coast offensive system in Miami, and that is the same scheme Tannehill ran in college, so he would become an easy fit for the Dolphins, and would benefit sitting behind Matt Moore for a year or two.
