Indianapolis Colts: Addressing the 2012 Off-Season

The 2011 Indianapolis Colts struggled to find their identity to say the least. Not only was it due to the absence of Peyton Manning at the quarterback position, but the defense struggled to stay consistent game in and game out.

In the 2012 off-season, the Colts need to address:

1) Peyton Manning’s $28 million dollar bonus – he’s due to get paid $28,000,000 dollars on top of his $7,400,000 dollar salary for the 2012-2013 season. Paying one single player $35,400,000 in one year will almost never happen in this league. In my opinion, I believe the Indianapolis Colts will release Manning and will use the $28,000,000 on a few different positions, especially on the defensive side of the ball.

2) Drafting Andrew Luck (QB/Stanford) in place of Peyton Manning would fill your Quarterback position need and he very well maybe your franchise quarterback for at least the next ten seasons. He has been talked about as being one of the highest graded players entering the NFL Draft since John Elway. He shows a lot of promise, and I believe the Indianapolis Colts will draft Andrew Luck with their number one overall pick.

Top Free Agents – 1) Robert Mathis – DE  2) Reggie Wayne – WR  3) Jeff Saturday – C
